BEGINNINGS : The Universe
i | The Universe is a thing. Oh yeah. And it made every thing. And it’s made of every thing. And it is every thing and contains every thing. And it is itself and contains itself. And that’s the beginning and the end of it. |
ii | And the Universe is infinitely full ~ Almost full of nothing, yes But also a comparatively little something And a comparatively almost non-existant life And a comparatively infinite love. |
iii | And the Universe is the same as Art and god and infinite and love, Because these words mean the same thing. |
iv | And not you or anyone will ever understand Why the Universe happened And this, although true, is also Perfectly ok. |
v | And the Universe came to produce The marvellous, intelligent, sexy apes Who called themselves Humans And this is a great mystery too. |
vi | And the Humans, like all living things, are rare And complicated, and mysterious. |
vii | And the artists who live among them, And outside of them, Are painfully scarce, wildly sensitive, Soulful, deeply mysterious, paradoxical, And utterly necessary. |
