BEGINNINGS : Apes of the Universe

Do what you can
To hold your apes tight
They may be born monsters
Awestruck, lost
Forgive their mad eyes
Those mirrored spheres
of burning gas -

But show them good
And what's worth a bite
Show them the something, the why
Amid the sinkhole lifeless night
Or what it takes to be ok
As they fall out with themselves, each other, with plumskin life
As they fight and fight and fight and fight.
